These beating mallets were designed for individuals who would like to macerate cooked paper fibers by hand.

The mallets are made with care, by Hook Pottery paper, with wood that has been slowly dried and aged for three years. Each mallet weighs between 15-28 ounces which seems to be ideal when working with a range of students and artists.

The handles are 12” long by 1” in diameter and made of oak. The head of the mallet is made of fruit wood and measures 3 inches in diameter by 6 inches in length. Once the tool has been assembled, it is sealed with a beeswax linseed oil finish to withstand its wet working conditions.
