Specialty Teflon Tools
While Colophon’s classic Teflon tools are great for general box making and bookbinding applications, these shapes are tailor-made to specific tasks like burnishing, lifting, and adhering. Teflon’s low friction pairs well with these tools’ various curves, angles, and long edges that help smooth cloth or define lines without marring the surface of your material. See below for suggested uses of each tool:
Round Burnisher: Hold it like a pencil to push material into grooves, corners, or other limited-access areas
Thin Lifter: Lift material for repair or carefully transfer delicate, wet or adhesive-charged material. NB: this lifter is made from Delrin, a stiffer low friction polymer.
Curved Handle: Smooth flat, convex, or concave surfaces with this shapes variety of edges
Rib: Enjoy the ergonomics of this shape as you effortlessly adhere materials together
Square: The ultimate box tool. With its crisp edge, clean up freshly adhered edges or get sharp corners and even adhesion in those hard-to-reach inner box walls.
Nevada: Another wonderful box making aid, the Nevada’s angled nose makes a convenient angle to work material over contours and into corners.
Nevada XL: All the advantages of the Nevada at a larger scale.
